Art exhibitions take place in the mystical setting of the old citadel. Small and low-key fixtures, they showcase the works of both local and international artists, attracting art enthusiasts from everywhere. The charm of these exhibitions lies not only in the stunning location, but also in the diverse range of artworks on display.
This year, an exhibition entitled “The Land of Mani” has been organised by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Messinia, in collaboration with the celebrated painter Stavros Kotsireas, and with the support of the Municipality of Western Mani.
Kotsireas presents his visual work for the first time in Mani. The exhibition will feature new and older works by him: paintings, ink drawings, bronze sculptures.
Works, inspired by his place of origin, with the aura of deep love and nostalgia from his childhood to the present day.
The influence of the land of Mani and his love for color and poetry is evident in his work. Inner landscapes and images with words, wild greenery, ochres of the earth, thyme, cypresses and olive groves, sea and mountain, bring Kotsireas’ art to its knees in the magnificence of the land of Mani.
