Local public transportation
It’s quite safe to bike, hike, or hitch rides from place to place in the Mani, but for forays further afield you’ll find it relatively easy and inexpensive to travel around using the local public transport network. During high season, buses come and go on an hourly basis.
In addition to serving citizens with routes within the prefecture of Messinia, KTEL Messinia also has inter-prefectural routes connecting cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Ioannina and Sparta with Kalamata.
Our fleet currently amounts to 108 buses, of which 9 are owned by KTEL, 3 are tourist buses and 2 are minibuses.
