Literally right on the shore (10 m from the sea), at the southernmost end of Ritsa Beach, and just a few paces (50 m) from the village centre, Elpida is quite simply one of the best little places in the whole of Kardamili. This charming, small villa enjoys all the top features that a holiday establishment can offer: a clean and quiet pebble beach with the crystalline, placid Mediterranean at only metres away... an enchanting little garden... an enclosed paved forecourt... spacious, tastefully-decorated guestrooms with full amenities... shops and supermarkets just around the corner... plenty of peace... and some of the most tremendously magnificent, uninterrupted sea views and sunsets in all Mani. Owned and managed with enormous care by Miss Elpida Beloghianni, a young and well-respected lady (she is also Sir Patrick Leigh-Fermor's housekeeper), this unique lodging proffers one of the loveliest and most stylish sojourns in our beautiful village. |

Although at first sight the villa will seem quite small, guests will nonetheless find its interior extraordinarily airy and roomy. Its main entrance leads to a large, warmly-furnished living room (with 2 sofa beds and dining area) and a fully-equipped, spacious open-plan kitchen (with electric kettle, big fridge, small cooker/oven, toaster, etc.). Behind these quarters, a small hallway leads to a bathroom (with shower) and utility room; to the other side, the main entrance leads to an enormous, tastefully-decorated bedroom – certainly the biggest that we have visited in Kardamili – with a huge armoire, double bed (with orthopaedic mattress), commode/dresser, mirror, TV, and air-conditioner. The guestrooms are all east-facing and their doors open onto a paved, furnished terrace which features a beautiful, enclosed garden and fabulous views of the sea. The beach is, from here, literally just a few paces away... Perfect! And a short perimeter wall that encircles the entire villa ensures guests of total peace and privacy. The lodgings are serviced twice weekly, with change of sheets and towels. |

Elpida is just around the corner from Kardamili's main square, so shops, supermarkets and tavernas (as well as the old village, the Limanaki, and other amenities) are all at but 2-3 minutes' walking distance, but if you'll be bringing your car – or indeed even a boat and trailer – for extended forays in the region you will find this lodging particularly ideal: the villa has its own enclosed paved forecourt with secured private parking for at least 2 vehicles. A 10% discount is naturally applicable for extended stays of 15+ days. Elpida is also available for long-term hire (1 or more months, from October to March only), at a special price of €500, with electricity and water bills charged separately. Highly, highly, highly recommended by us, and very well worth the length of your journey to the Peloponnese, if only to enjoy the unique luxury of having the sea at your feet.... |
