Welcome to our beautiful hotel, Vardia Hotel. Vardia, in Greek, means "change of guard", and our hotel takes this name because it located right next to the famous old guarding tower on the high hill just behind Kardamili. This particular elevated area is in fact recognized by all the villagers as "the Eye of Kardamili", because the view here is quite simply the best of all Kardamili: directly below, the land stretches out to meet the sea and one can see absolutely everything – the valley, the old village, the new village, the bay, southern Mani, the Messinian gulf and the western peninsula of the Peloponnese. It was only fitting that a small, beautiful, family-run hotel should be built here, and that this hotel should take this great name. Our family, the Dimitreas family, has created a hotel that makes full use of the spectacular panoramas that unravel like a magnificent, immense and colourful painting, a hotel where each guestroom has priority views, and so every single apartment and studio has its own individual balcony with a totally awesome and perfect vista: uninterrupted sea sunsets that fill your heart with joy, your mind with beauty and your psyche with peace. |

Our hotel features a large forecourt with ample parking space, a reception area with free WIFI Internet facilities, a cosy dining room and a very lush and spacious garden with paved terraces where you can relax in peace and enjoy nature, the sun and the views. Breakfast is set out each morning in our dining room where we serve hot coffee and tea, with fresh eggs from our own chickens, bread, honey and yoghurt. Vardia Hotel is, of course, a favoured resort for summer holiday-makers, but it is steadfastly also becoming an all-year-round destination for visitors who return time and time again from all over the world to enjoy the beauty and peace of the other seasons in the Mani. Spring is undoubtedly sensational, but the autumn too is particularly wonderful here, as the weather remains fairly perfect and the sea quite warm. This is a natural period to unwind and relax the mind and body, so taking a break at this time of year is logical. And although the Taygetos in the distance is capped with snow, the winter climate in Kardamili stays mild and sunny. You can book your holidays here all year round and rest assured that the weather will be wonderful. |
